Shop Door JambsA door frame is made of three jamb boards that line the door opening: one for each side and one across the top. Your door's hinges screw into one of them. Our jambs are paint-grade, meaning they are made to be painted, not stained, and they give you a clean, square finish.
Two materials
Raw MDF, a smooth engineered wood, or finger-joint pine, solid pine joined from short pieces so it stays straight. The pine comes primed: a white base coat that helps paint stick.
Sized for your walls
4-5/8" width for standard 2x4 walls and 6-5/8" for thicker 2x6 walls. Not sure? Measure your wall's thickness at the door opening, drywall included: about 4-1/2 inches means a standard 2x4 wall.
Sold by the board
Each jamb is a single board. A full frame for one door takes three boards: two sides and one top. They pack flat as separate pieces, which is normal.
Finish your way
Primed pine is ready for paint. Raw MDF needs a coat of primer first, then paints up smooth and clean.
Primed finger-joint pine, paint-ready
Our finger-joint pine jambs come factory primed, so they are ready for your final coat of paint. The boards are straight and stable, and they hold hinges and handles securely.
Raw MDF, sized for your walls
Our MDF jambs come raw and machine-smooth: give them a coat of primer, then paint in any colour. Pick the width that matches your wall so the jamb sits flush with the drywall on both sides, with no gap to cover.
Finish the job with a frame that fits
Pair your jamb boards with a door, hinges and a handle, and everything is ready to paint and install.
