A door stop is the thin strip of moulding that runs around the inside of a door frame. The door closes against it, which keeps the door sitting flush in the frame and covers the gap between the door edge and the frame.

The Contemporary profile has a flat face with one angled top edge, 3/8 in x 1-3/8 in. Sold in 14 ft lengths, primed white and ready to paint. Choose your material:

  • MDF (medium density fibreboard, a smooth engineered wood): smooth finish at the lowest price.
  • Finger joint pine (solid pine wood joined from shorter sections): a little tougher than MDF and holds nails well.

How much do you need? A standard door frame takes about 17 ft of door stop: one length for each side and one across the top. Two 14 ft lengths cover one door with plenty left over.
